Wood details: Roxinho (pronounced roh-SHEEN-yoh) is the Brazilian name for Purpleheart (genus Peltogyne). Native to Central and South America, this exotic hardwood is highly prized for its incredible density, high durability, and striking, vibrant purple.

Key Characteristics:

Color: When freshly cut, the wood is dull brown or greyish-purple. Upon exposure to light and oxygen, it oxidizes into a deep, vivid purple.

Hardness & Durability: It is extremely hard and heavy, with a Janka hardness rating of around 2,500 lbf. It is highly resistant to rot, decay, termites, and fungal attacks.
